I am trying to learn gamedev on gamemaker in my spare time. I post progress updates and pixelart on my twitter @GeekdudeAndrew. Also sometimes I post pixel art or abstract photoshop wallpaper on www.deviantart.com/geekdude. I attend my local gamejam frequently #comogamejam and my unfinished prototypes end up here. I hope one day to finish a game to fully polished retail ready state but I am busy with my part time IT job and studying real world programming skills among other things. I have many game projects I work on infrequently.
My most ambitious project I haven't written an entry for because I don't have anything to a playable state yet. Its a large puzzle / action adventure game set in a 8 bit high fantasy world where you are rescuing people from a castle under siege. Instead of adding abilities to a main character you add characters to your party that have abilities by rescuing them from the rubble (usually involving a puzzle or fight of some sort). At the end of the level some characters leave your party when they are escorted to safety and new ones are added in the next level. This will allow for me to pick the abilities that are in each level and drastically change gameplay in each level or area. It will be heavily inspired by chips challenge and Zelda. Its a large undertaking. I may serialize it and release separate areas as their own game.
